Designing and building housing today is more challenging than ever….. but this also brings opportunity for certain architectural practices to excel by creating solutions through design. At Stonehouse & Co our aim is simple – with all projects managed directly by Ben we bring 17 years of design experience to produce sites and houses that have design flair, a sense of place but are also technically accurate and cost aware. As time is money….. our guarantee is that drawings will be on time. Whilst we are a small practice we see this as a great feature – it allows us to concentrate on a select number of schemes to which we can give a personal service and really become a central part of the design team.
All projects are carried out in Autodesk REVIT. With our help and guidance this is a fundamental start to achieve Level 2 BIM compliance. From our extensive experience when used correctly this encourages collaboration within the design team, and also reduces design mistakes and hence costly mistakes on site for the developers. Our Experience:
Starting out as an Architectural Technician at a private practice, Ben has gone on to develop his architectural skills and construction industry knowledge to an expert level whilst working in the design and technical departments for both regional and national house building companies.
Over the years Ben has worked at senior level leading the design of projects ranging from single houses to large housing estates, care homes, refurbishment projects, along with a number of specialist residential schemes. Most of these have been on difficult technically challenging sites which has required developing both site and house designs that meet both client requirements but are still within the cost constraints required. However one thing we never forget is that a home is just that – a home for someone to live in – so we aim to make every house a great place to live.
